Bridesmaid Appointment Tips

Make An Appointment

Appointments are highly recommended to find your perfect styles. By setting up an appointment, a specialized consultant will be assigned to work with you for your 90-minute appointment.

Trust Your Consultant

Your specialized consultant will direct you toward a few styles or designers that they think will be perfect for your party. At the end of the day, the bride should get the final decision on the dress choice. Try your best to be supportive of her vision.

Avoid Saturdays

There’s no other way to put it other than Saturdays at The Wedding Shoppe are busy! Be prepared for the hustle and bustle or, if possible, schedule an appointment on a weekday.

5 Common Questions About Our Bridesmaids Appointment

Q. What type of undergarments should I wear?

A. Because of space limitations, we often ask that attendants from the same party share a fitting room in our bridesmaid department, so make sure you wear undergarments you don’t mind being seen in.

Q. Can I bring children to my appointment?

A. Our bridesmaid department fills up quickly with all of our brides and bridesmaids and can become very overwhelming. For the safety and wellbeing of children and other customers, we ask that any special little guests are supervised and with their group at all times.

Q. Is our group allowed to take photos of us in the dresses?

A. The answer is, heck yes! After all, a big part of choosing bridesmaid dresses has to do with how they look as a group in photos. We love our customers and love seeing them in their final selections, so make sure you also share them with us on Facebook and Instagram!

Q. We found the dress! Now what?

A. Once you have found your dress or dresses, your consultant will have the bride fill out a contract and will take all of the present bridesmaids’ measurements. To choose a size, your consultant will compare your measurements to the manufacturer’s sizing chart to help you select the size that will fit best. Once you have chosen a size, you will pay in full for the dress to get the order started. Wedding party dresses will not get ordered until all members are measured and all dresses are paid for.

Q. Will I need alterations?

A. We order your dress according to the manufacturer’s size chart, in hopes to limit the amount of alterations, but almost all bridesmaids still need alterations to achieve a perfect fit. Check out our measurement guide if you'd like further assistance.
