2018 Bridal Trends: The Top Styles to Fall in Love With

2018 Bridal Trends: The Top Styles to Fall in Love With
The best part of the quickly approaching 2018 season? A whole new year of weddings, wedding planning, and bridal trends. While wedding planning is in full swing for couples everywhere; deciding on color schemes, bridesmaid dresses, vendors, and unique new wedding desserts, one part is the most exciting of all: the wedding dress. We saw some seriously beautiful bridal trends in 2017, and with each passing year designers are busy creating gowns to one-up their previous collections. With so many new styles and trends to choose from, how do you even begin? We’ve sorted through the mountains of tulle and loads of lace to bring you the best of the 2018 runways and collections. 1.Capes and Capelets Just about every designer featured at least one bridal gown on the runway that was perfectly accessorized with a cape or caplet. Modern and a great alternative to the classic veil, capes and capelets also provide an opportunity for an outfit change without the cost of actually purchasing two different gowns. Unique, stunning, and with just a hint of royal beauty, this gorgeous trend will let your personality shine on your wedding day. 2. High Necklines and High Collars Back and better than ever, high necklines are seriously stunning. And don’t mistake this style for only simplistic or modest brides, with various designers offering this style there are plenty of different variations and options. Proving that anyone can look stunning in a high collar gown, Pippa Middleton (the lucky sister of the Duchess of Cambridge) looked straight out of a fairy tale in her lace gown. 3. Bows Bows have become increasingly popular within the last few years, and they just keep getting better and better. Go for a more simplistic look with small delicate bows, or go all out with large, decadent bows. Whatever your taste, I’m sure you can find a style and look to fall in love with. 4. Boho Chic The boho trend has seen a lot of attention in the past few years, and it’s a style that isn’t going anywhere soon. Some people picture floral crowns and barefoot brides when they imagine bohemian brides, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Flowy, fun, and relaxed dresses are everywhere now which makes finding the perfect dress to fit your sense of style that much easier. 5. Overskirts Can’t decide between a slim fitting gown and an extravagant ballgown? With this hot new style you don’t have to choose anymore! The perfect way to make a statement, this stunning option is figure flattering and unique, and will sure to have heads turning as you walk down that aisle. 6. Slip/Sheath Dresses Sophisticated, simplistic, and slim-fitting, slip dresses were all over the runway this year. Add lace, floral, or beaded accents for additional details to this classic silhouette. 7. Sheer Corsets This is a style we have seen gain a lot of popularity here at the Wedding Shoppe, and I think you can see why. Accenting the narrowest part of your body, this is a super flattering fit. Sheer corsets provide a touch of tasteful sex appeal (that probably won’t draw those disapproving looks from your grandmother). Many of these dresses at the Shoppe have optional bodice lining, so you feel confident in the dress you choose. 8. Bell Sleeves Bridal sleeves are one of my personal favorite styles. With so many beautifully unique variations (lace, illusion, slit, and so many more!), I am in love with 2018’s sleeved gowns. Bell sleeves in particular have caught my attention, as well as every bridal designer, because they add a fun and elegant touch. If your style is more vintage or more boho, you can find a bell sleeve to wear for your wedding bells. 9. Classic Silhouettes Satin and silk gowns in timeless silhouettes, such as A-line or mermaid, are making a big comeback. I’m a huge fan of many of these new and fun trends, but you can never go wrong with a classic dress. Pictures are forever, right? Even celebrities are on board, Pippa Middleton absolutely glowed in her Grace Kelly inspired bridal gown in her recent summer wedding. 10. Allover Beading Beaded accents are everywhere now, and allover beading is quickly catching up in popularity. For brides who want to make a statement and shimmer and shine in their dress, this is definitely the trend for you.   There you have it. From bows to bell sleeves, 2018 is sure to be full of gorgeous weddings and dresses. Do you see any styles you love? Any you want to check out for yourself? Share with us in the comments below! And happy shopping!

All beautiful. My style is strapless but I’m concerned about it falling when dancing.
