Finding the Right Dress {Featured Bride, Kelsey K.}
Featured Bride, Kelsey K. Wedding Location: St. Paul, MN | Wedding Date: October 26, 2012 Most of the women in my life, both family and friends, have found their wedding dresses at the Wedding Shoppe. It was obvious that would be a place I checked out in my search for my own wedding dress.

Finding the right dress with Featured Bride Kelsey K.

Tips for finding the right dress.

From the first phone call I made to schedule an appointment, I felt right at home. The people at the Wedding Shoppe are super friendly and helpful. It continued to be this way throughout the rest of my experience there. I came into my appointment with three sisters, my future mother-in-law, and my mom. I realize this is quite a bit of people (and opinions), but I didn’t want to leave anyone out.

Kelsey’s advice for wedding dress shopping.

I would recommend researching what style of dress or dresses you like before coming into your appointment (I brought pictures of the style I liked). This really helps your consultant get an idea of what you’re looking for, and allows them to know the direction they should be going throughout the appointment. You only have ninety minutes, and if you’re serious about finding “the one” it’s great to have a starting point. I’m a pretty straightforward person, and if I don’t like something it’s typically easy for me to say no, but most of the dresses I tried on I really liked. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. They had a great selection of the style I was looking for (fit and flare), and my consultant pulled some awesome dresses. There were a few dresses that I tried on in the dressing room, but didn’t go out to show my girls; if you don’t like it, there’s no sense in going out to show it off. For one, it takes time. And two, you may get opinions that confuse you. I say go with your first instinct. I knew I had finally found the dress the minute I put it on, and my girls agreed the minute they saw it. Once I added a beaded sash and changed the top to a sweetheart shape, it was complete. It’s also important to think outside the box, and see what finishing touches you can add to really make your dress perfect for you.
