Royal Cathedral Train


The royal cathedral train is the longest train style, and is only seen in the most formal wedding ceremonies. (It is also referred to as an "Extended Cathedral Train," "Grand Cathedral Train," or the "Monarch Train")

A royal cathedral train extends 9 feet or more behind the gown (measured from the back of the waist), cascading endlessly behind the bride, creating an abundance of drama.

With its great length, it has become quite uncommon to see a dress with a royal cathedral train. They are, however, still seen at the most formal of wedding ceremonies, particularly royal weddings.
