Fedora (fí-dôr'-uh)

A soft felt hat with a fairly low crown creased lengthwise and a brim that can be turned up or down.
Originally a women's fashion in the 20th century, the fedora came into use in about 1919, as a men's middle-class clothing accessory. Its popularity soared in the early 1920s. Fedoras can be found in nearly any color, but black, grey, tan, brown, and red are the most popular.
