Vintage, Romantic, Fun? What's your style?
So now that I have introduced myself in my last post, I would like to share a few tips on photography and what you (as a client and/or photographer) can get out of it!
Photography is a PASSION turned business for me. I love what I do, the people I work with and being a part of some huge moments in my clients lives. Unfortunately, for many photographers... "burnout" occurs after some time in the industry and they find themselves doing the same shots, using the same poses and editing with the same techniques. A skilled photographer will not only capture beautiful images but rather MOMENTS! A great photographer will also continue to train their creative eye and evoke emotion in each of their images. Here I want to show you how editing can do that! Take this image of the beautiful Alisa. I had the privilege to work with her on a shoot for some recent auditions she will be attending (GO GET 'EM ALISA!). This image is the raw image that I captured with the available light and my Olympus E-620. After a bit of 'tweaking', layers, filters and fine-tuning, I was able to come up with this... How does the second image differ from the first? Same girl. Same pose. Same lighting but different technique. Be sure when you're looking for your photographer to capture your big day that they have the ability to edit to style and capture everything that is your big day. Now, not every photographer or couple wants images to be edited to style and rather enjoy simply the raw images in high-resolution. That is A-OK! Be sure you are *clear* with your photographer about exactly what feeling you want out of your images. Whether that be vintage: Natural: Romantic: Fun: Western: You get the point... Just be clear with your expectations at the time of your booking because if your photographer is anything like me... we begin thinking of poses, props and editing right away! Well, there is your tip on this "Wedding Wednesday"! Cheers! Lauren, "LC"
