My top wedding day finds:I can't believe we have only two months left until we're married! It's crazy to think that we have been engaged for ten months today. 10-01-10 was a day that changed my life forever, and I am so excited to think that we only have a short time until I'm a "Mrs."! Crazy. For this post, I figured I'd share some of the things I found that helped me save money and get exactly what we wanted for our big day. Here it goes!
Custom finds:Etsy.com - Yep, it's fabulous. I got a custom veil (for under $30), custom sterling silver rings for my bridesmaids' gifts, and our wedding tree guestbook (more on that later).
Getting ready outfits:Old Navy - This is where you go for super-adorable velour tracksuits to wear while getting ready. They fit amazingly, they offer long inseams in the pants (for all you long-legged ladies out there!), and are very affordable (just about $12!). I was able to snatch these puppies up for my girls and rhinestone them myself, saving me boatloads.
Rings:Dolce Vita Jewelers - They have two locations, Ridgedale Mall and Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. I can't say enough good things about them. They gave us great deals on our rings and I am just obsessed with mine! We got my wedding band there, too. If you haven't gotten your bands or you're not engaged yet, check them out! Here is my ring and wedding band (both from Dolce Vita):
My perfect dress:The Wedding Shoppe Inc. - My dress is PERFECT. It fits perfectly. The color is perfect. The design is perfect. I could not find anything remotely close to the help I received from Wedding Shoppe Inc. or the value I got for my dress. I can't wait to wear it for a full day!
Flower find:Molly's Flower Studio - Everyone should go see Molly. She is fantastic and her creations are just stunning. Molly works out of her home and strives to make amazing custom creations within your budget. She was a fabulous find.
Photography:Last but not least, Viveria Photography. Being a photographer myself, selecting the photographer for our big day was not an easy task. I was so nervous, it actually took me months and months to select the perfect fit. I think we found it! Since I will no longer be taking on weddings myself after this year (I'm going to start focusing on families, senior portraits and other work), I will gladly, without hesitation, send my brides-to-be to Viveria Photography. Naomi and Alan are excellent and so passionate about their work. Go check them out! Tell them Lauren sent you! Well, there is the round-up of my favorite finds for our big day. On to some other fun stuff!
Other fun finds:We've decided to use an alternative to a traditional guestbook. You may have seen them at weddings or you may have heard of them, but wedding tree guestbooks are becoming more and more popular--probably because they are not only a guestbook, but art! I will be free-handing the trunk of the tree on thick, artist paper, and then we will have our guests stamp their thumbs in the green, purple and grey ink on the tree as if they were leaves. After they stamp, they will sign their names over their finger print. Our wedding has some "green" elements to it with our online RSVP process, recycled materials for all areas of the wedding, and even the TOMS Shoes I will be wearing! This seemed like a good fit for us. One other thing I am super pumped about is our honeymoon! But you'll have to wait for my next post about that. Here's a hint though: we're going to California! Wine, anyone? Cheers & Happy Planning! LC
