Featured Bride, Kelsey K. Wedding Location: St. Paul, MN | Wedding Date: October 26, 2012 We have a new Featured Bride to welcome to My Wedding Chat. Kelsey K. and her fiancé, Josh, are getting married on October 26, 2012. Today, she talks to us about why she chose her ceremony and reception venues, and she also shares a few tips on how she stuck to her wedding budget. Take note, dear brides; we all know how important the almighty budget is! ~~~ Northwestern College Nazareth Hall chapel location (Photo courtesy Northwestern College.) Kelsey K. searches St. Paul wedding ceremony sites to find her perfect match! Josh and I both graduated from Northwestern College in St. Paul, so from the beginning we knew we wanted to get married at the Northwestern College Nazareth Hall chapel location. It’s so beautiful and romantic. It holds up to 300 guests and is filled with two rows of gorgeous marble pillars on both sides. If you’re a bride who is looking for romantic wedding locations, and is really particular about the setting of your pictures, I would highly recommend Nazareth Chapel. Outside it is surrounded by a lakeside setting, private island, wooded areas and Romanesque architecture. Pictures will turn out perfect no matter the season! Like many other St. Paul wedding ceremony sites, Nazareth books up really fast. My advice would be to research and book your ceremony location as soon as possible. Josh and I got engaged in February and it probably took us almost a month to get the available chapel dates to coordinate with those available at different reception venues. There were only a couple dates left to choose from in 2012. Romantic wedding locations and budget-friendly reception ideas DS Event Center - St. Paul, MN (Photo courtesy DS Event Center.) The reception venue we chose was The DS Event Center in St Paul. It holds up to 400 guests and is only about 15 minutes away from the Northwestern College Nazareth Hall chapel location. The most important aspect Josh and I were looking for in a reception hall is how we could save as much money as possible. We decided with having an evening ceremony, we would just have a dessert and appetizer reception. The DS Event Center allows you to bring in your own licensed caterer, cash bar services, and DJ. They also include a good amount of decorations in the rental price. This is where we are able to save a ton of money. Some cheap places that many people wouldn’t think to cater from are places like Cub, Costco, Lund’s, and Sam’s Club. They are really reasonable with pricing, and their food is surprisingly good. We are planning on getting all of our desserts from Sam’s Club and Costco. ~~~ Thanks for sharing with us, Kelsey! We look forward to hearing about how the rest of your planning goes. Good luck and congratulations! ~~~ If you would like to be a My Wedding Chat Featured Bride, contact us for all the details!
