Wedding gown and bridesmaid dress shopping.
Most girls only dream of getting married once in their lifetime. That means you are given the task of choosing the one dress, the one look, the one overall vision of this memorable day. That also means that you have the challenge of finding the perfect look when you go bridesmaid dress shopping with your closest girls. Both tasks can sound intimidating, hear featured bride Alli's experience!
Finding the perfect gown.
This is either just another thing to check off the wedding planning “to-do” list, or, in my case, a crucial piece of the once in a lifetime event. I made my appointment at the Wedding Shoppe and waited with anticipation for the day to come. My feelings were mixed with excitement to choose the
beautiful bridal gown I would wear to marry the man of my dreams and anxiety to choose the one
piece of clothing that would be in my wedding photo forever.
How do I choose the bridal gown that would reflect “me” the most?
I went to the appointment open minded as to not pass judgment before giving any dress a chance. I tried on the first dress, walked out to the mirror where my mom, sister and friends were waiting and they all started to cry. Was this my bridal dress? I loved everything about it and most importantly I loved the way it made me feel, but come on….I didn’t want to miss the chance to try on more than one bridal gown! I tried on several more, all different styles and looks, but the entire time I found myself just waiting to put the first gown back on. I had chosen my one
dress, my one
look, my one
piece of clothing that represents “me” the most for this special day.
Bridesmaid dress shopping.
For the wedding, I am imagining a classic vintage feel so I was on a mission to find a bridesmaid dress to fit that particular vision. For my bridesmaid appointment at the Wedding Shoppe I brought along my maids of honor, Kim and Kristine. I thought choosing my bridal dress was going to be a tough decision but it is even harder to choose a bridesmaid dress for four other people to wear. Included in my vision of the wedding were particular colors, one of which was a “dusty rose” color. Turns out, this color was a tricky one to find. We either found the right color but the styles weren’t quite right or we found a beautiful dress and dusty rose wasn’t an option. After several attempts we found the perfect bridesmaid dress! It was different than I ever would have imagined the bridesmaid dresses to be, but it was absolutely beautiful! The dress passed the Kim and Kristine test and we had found the bridesmaid dress that fit the vision perfectly!
