Unique wedding theme ideas in action!
In mid-October, I attended my cousin’s wedding in downtown Chicago. The theme was, none other than, "Chicago.” Although neither bride nor groom is from Chicago, the city has found a special place for them. Chicago is where they met while attending school and where they plan to start their new life together. In very subtle ways, they incorporated great attributes to create this one-of-a-kind Chicago wedding theme, from their romantic city style save-the-dates all the way to their after-party deep dish, Chicago style pizza.
Finding the perfect location.
Patrick and Tracy's ceremony was held in a beautiful church right in the heart of the city, with a color scheme of black and white and a splash of red. The wedding party’s transportation was a Chicago trolley, and included many significant landmark stops on their way to the reception hall. The reception hall was held right on Michigan Avenue; nothing screams Chicago more than being right on Michigan Avenue!Invites, place cards, and centerpieces with flavor.
Their invitations, wedding cake, and hand-made-by-the-bride candle holder favors all included the same black and white Chicago skyline outline to set the mood of the downtown Chicago wedding. Their name cards were handmade with the guest’s name and table number written on a little card inserted into a sliced wine cork. For the centerpieces, they had soda bottles with a straw displaying the table name. Each table was named for a specific Chicago landmark, such as Lincoln Park Zoo, Shed Aquarium, and Soldier Field.
Wow, this gave me drest ideas
