Featured Bride, Kelsey K. Wedding Location: St. Paul, MN | Wedding Date: October 26, 2012 This past week, Josh and I had a taste testing with Leeann Chin’s wedding reception catering. We decided to take a different route with our catering and try something we both love: Asian food. It seems that every bride feels the need to find a wedding caterer that serves the same types of traditional foods: same old chicken, vegetable, and salad. Don’t get me wrong, it can be delicious! We just decided to break the tradition, especially since this traditional meal has been so common within our family weddings.
Wedding food ideas: Make it personal by choosing your favorite!Since we are on a tight budget, we decided having an appetizer wedding reception would be best. I found this is a great way to get a reasonable amount of food for a cheaper price. Some may think, “We’re going to have to make a food stop on the way there.” Honestly, after our taste test, both Josh and I were extremely full. We came hungry and tried the exact amount of appetizers each of our guests would have while at our reception. Believe me, if Josh is full there is plenty of food. The boy likes to eat!
Stick to the budget by having an appetizer wedding reception.I would recommend trying a food chain like this for your wedding reception catering. It’s not only something unique and different; it can save you a lot of cash in comparison to the higher end catering services. Some other examples that are similar to Leeann Chin would be Famous Dave’s, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, Green Mill, and even Subway. It all depends on what you’re looking for, but it sure can cut costs and give your guests some different wedding reception catering than what they’re used to.
Think outside the box with these creative wedding food ideas. At this point, these are the appetizers we have chosen:
- Firecracker Shrimp (It's amazing!)
- Egg Rolls
- Oyster Wings
- Cream Cheese Puffs
- Vegetable Fried Rice
- Asian Noodles
