Cute love stories: Megan and Kevin

Kevin and I met through mutual friends. I knew we had a connection after our first conversation, which consisted of him making fun of me, and me pretending that his jokes weren’t funny. We quickly went from being acquaintances to developing a friendship that would eventually turn into dating. We both liked each other early on into our friendship, but were both too stubborn to admit our feelings. Our friends would ask why we weren’t dating, because we were perfect for each other. Eventually, Kevin wrote me a lovey dovey letter and that was the push I needed to take a chance and see if we could make it as a couple. Obviously we did because I am writing a proposal blog! After three months of dating, Kevin and I moved in together. I admit I’ve never been the most rational girl when it comes to certain decisions, but moving in together was the best decision I ever made. I knew Kevin and I would eventually get married because I didn’t want to experience all of life’s special moments with anyone else. Kevin proposed to me on February 7, 2012 at Grand Ole Creamery in Saint Paul. I worked until 9:00 that night and Kevin called me at work to see if I wanted to grab some ice cream. Now, anyone who knows me understands that I have an obsession with ice cream, and I would be completely crazy to pass up an offer such as this.
Marriage proposal stories that start with ice cream? Yes, please!
As we sat at Grand Old Creamery, I was totally preoccupied by the tastiness of the Coffee Break flavor I had chosen, and was secretly telling myself how proud I was of my selection. Because I was having a love affair with my ice cream, I didn’t even realize Kevin had gotten up from the table and was bent down on one knee! He asked me to marry him while holding a diamond ring! I was completely shocked and overjoyed. Kevin never can keep a secret from me, and I was really impressed he was able to pull off the proposal without me being suspicious. Later that night, we called to share our exciting news with our family and friends. Also, we wasted no time updating our relationship status on Facebook to “engaged.” After all, it ain’t official until it’s “Facebook official,” ladies!
What follows the marriage proposal stories? The planning, of course.
