The next step of wedding planning was the one I was looking forward to the most: wedding dress shopping! I had been to the Wedding Shoppe St. Paul for other friends’ weddings and I was hoping to find my dress there too.

Wedding dress shopping: Why I chose the Wedding Shoppe.

As my appointment got closer, I started getting nervous that I was limiting myself to one store, so I asked my sister (my maid of honor) to go looking with me at one other bridal boutique just to see what was out there. All I will say, without naming names, is that we were not impressed. We had a good time with our consultant, but the selection was disappointing. I ended up trying on about eight dresses, but only tried them on to get an idea of dress shapes, and because I had to try on something there! I was glad we went wedding dress shopping there because it gave me an idea of what other bridal shops were like, and made me more confident in my decision when I did find my dress.

There are so many bridal shops to choose from!

The next week was my appointment at the Wedding Shoppe St. Paul. I brought along my mom, sister, best friend, and aunt. We went upstairs to the bridal area where we met our bridal consultant, Meg. She was awesome! At first we had a little conversation about what I liked, didn’t like, and my budget. From there we started browsing through the dresses. Everyone pulled a few that they thought I should try on. I tried on about ten dresses and put back anything I said “No” to right away, and kept anything I would consider a finalist. In the end we got it down to two. As a very indecisive person, this was very hard for me, but I was finally able to make up my mind. Without giving away any dress details (because Cole is probably reading this), I will say that the dress had elements of everything I described to Meg at the beginning. It was the second or third dress that I tried on, and one that my mom had picked out. The saying is true, Mom always knows best! Overall, my wedding dress shopping experience was wonderful, and we have Meg to thank! She was so helpful, respectful of my budget, and patient, even when our appointment went longer than it should have.  It was a very fun day thanks to everyone at the Wedding Shoppe St. Paul!
