Let's Celebrate: The bridal shower and bachelorette party!

Featured bride, Sarah T., shares stories from her fun bridal shower and bachelorette party with us today! Check out her cute stories, party games, and fun memories.

My bridal shower.

My godmother ordered a white cake with gerber daisies on it and cupcakes to match. For drinks we stuck to coffee, tea, or mimosas, which were a great idea. Everyone loved the mimosas so if this is your thing I would definitely recommend them. My maid of honor organized the games. Usually I am not a huge fan of games but she did a great job!

First we did a “How well do you know the bride?” quiz and compared the answers my fiancé gave to mine. Then we played a “Celebrity Couple” game where you fill out the spouse name of the celebrity listed. My godmother gave away small prizes (candles, scented lotion/soap sets) to the winners of the games.

My bridesmaids were awesome: one wrote down who the gifts were from as I opened them, one recorded the gift opening on my Flip Cam, and one took care of the trash. I really enjoyed my shower and it was so sweet that they tailored everything to my style and personality!

My bachelorette party.

My Bridesmaids took on the great task of organizing my Bachelorette Party. Everything was a complete surprise and I loved every minute of it! If you are the kind of person who can live with not knowing everything, it’s great to be surprised.

During college we would all sing and dance to the Spice Girls, so they ordered Union Jack t-shirts from Amazon.com and we each dressed up as one of the Spice Girls. I was Ginger Spice, which entailed some really sparkly red shorts, red t-shirt, black boots, and red wig. I was accompanied by Baby Spice, Scary Spice, and Sporty Spice. We left Posh out because she’s no fun!

They made fantastic sucker bouquets with a cone of Styrofoam, big gerber daisies on the top, and navy blue ribbon on the bottom. They got mega suckers and tootsie pops, which were a big hit at the bars! Not to mention, it was a great way to make some money and some of the reactions are hilarious!

We started with dinner and drinks at Brit’s then went to the Onion for the bachelorette special, and ended at our favorite bar, Plum’s. The Onion gives you a glass, light up ring, free drink coupon, and tiara. My bridesmaids planned a phenomenal night and I loved the Spice Girls theme!

Thank you again to my friends and fellow Spice Girls!
