Reasons Why You Should Have Your Dog in Your Wedding

Reasons Why You Should Have Your Dog in Your Wedding
I am an avid dog lover, plain and simple. I live in an apartment with my fiancee and two dogs, and I couldn't be happier with our little family. Our wedding won't be coming up until 2020, but we already know that we want our dogs to be a part of our special day! I'm a firm believer that anyone who owns a dog should consider having your dog in your wedding! But what if your dogs aren't that well behaved (like my dogs...)? What if you're afraid they're going to act up on the big day? We're here to soothe your concerns and let you know that it IS possible to have your dog in your wedding without any worries at all!

Why You Should Consider Having Your Dog in Your Wedding

If you're like me, your dog is a huge part of your life. You devote a lot of love, time, money, and patience to your dog! Sometimes, it feels like my entire life revolves around my two dogs, and I love it! Dogs are humans' close companions, so it's only natural to want to include them on one of the most important days of your life. But it seems like the cons far outweigh the pros when it comes to having your dog in your wedding. Dogs can be so obedient at times and so not at others. So we've compiled a list of all the reasons why you should have your dog in your wedding because we know that you want to include your furry best friend on your big day just like I do!

Reason #1: Your dog is one of your best friends

All of your best friends will be with you on the day of your wedding without a doubt. So why should your dog be on the only best friend left out? Whether you want your fur-baby to sit on the sidelines or be fully involved in the ceremony, your furry best friend deserves to see you shine on your big day! dog in your wedding

Reason #2: The pictures of you and your dog on wedding day will be forever cherished

You know it and I know it. When you're looking back at your wedding album throughout the years, you will treasure the pictures you took of you and your doggo. We promise that these pictures are BEYOND adorable and highly beloved! I think that this is one of the best perks of having your dog in your wedding!

Reason #3: Your guests will LOVE it

I've never been to a wedding where a dog was there, but I know that I will DIE the day I find a dog at a wedding! Your dog is sure to make your guests smile, and they'll love getting the opportunity to interact and pet your dog on one of the biggest days of your life.

Reason #4: Your dog will LOVE it

We promise that you doggy will love being there on your big day. Why? Because they'll cherish all of the love and attention they'll get from guests and the opportunity to spend time with you! Your pet's life revolves around you, so you don't doubt for a second that your doggy wouldn't love to be near you! dog in your wedding

Reason #5: You can have your dog walk down the aisle

Okay. Who wouldn't love to have pictures of their dog walking down the aisle? Is that not the cutest idea ever??? I cannot wait to see my two handsome little boys walking down the aisle with their bowties! Having your dog in your wedding means that you get the opportunity to have some fun with your ceremony! dog in your wedding

Reason #6: They will help you de-stress

Let's be real here: weddings are stressful! You'll most likely get really stressed/really overwhelmed at some point on your big day, but how awesome would it be to have your ultimate cuddle buddy there to give you soft kisses and hugs when you need them most? Kiss the worries and nerves goodbye!

Reason #7: Your dog will be all alone if he doesn't get to be at the wedding

What a sad thought! I definitely don't want to be thinking about how sad my little dogs will be on my wedding day while I'm having fun all day! Having your dog in your wedding won't be as hard as you think it will be, we promise. It will be worth including your fur-baby on the wedding day!

Now here's the real question: how can you pull this off?

Now that you're absolutely certain that you have to have your dog at your wedding, you're probably wondering how you're possibly going to manage to pull this off! Dealing with a dog all on your own on the big day sounds stressful! Here's my recommendation: don't worry about it! Lucky for you, I know the best wedding vendor in Minnesota: Doggy Social. Doggy Social is a wedding vendor that specializes in being your dog's wedding day pet attendant! dog in your wedding

About Doggy Social MN

Lara Leinen, the owner and founder of Doggy Social, is passionate the most about two things: event planning and animals. Lara has been in the wedding industry for about 10+ years now, so rest assured that your pup will be in safe hands!

How It All Began

When Lara got her puppy Asbjorn about a year ago, she knew that she wanted to be more involved in his life than her 9-5 job would allow. Lara originally started up Doggy Social MN as a pet care business to serve animals in her neighborhood so she could work at Doggy Social full time. While she was researching pet care options, she came across a picture of a doggy at someone's wedding, and she knew instantly that she wanted Doggy Social to be a wedding day pet attendant service! dog in your wedding

Lara wanted Doggy Social to fit every couple's individual needs on their big day so that they can have their dog involved on their big day without any stress! Lara's calling is to create something that is an extension of her love for animals, her passion for exceptional customer service as well as her desire to create beautiful moments. She credits her baby Asbjorn for leading her to creating this business that she truly adores.

I’ve been trying to convince my fiance to let our furbaby be in our wedding since the day we got engaged. I’m going to have to show him this article

My fiance and I have talked about having our fur babies in our wedding, but think it will be too much for them (one gets really nervous and the other gets hyper). Instead we are going to include them in our engagement pictures!

We decided almost immediately after getting engaged that our dog would be in our wedding. He is such a big part of our lives that we wouldn’t want it any other way.
