Grand Prom's most popular contest returns for Prom 2012
Grand Prom’s Prom Girl of the Year!
Do you know a spectacular young lady who deserves a free prom dress? We are on the lookout for outstanding high school students to be nominated for Grand Prom's Prom Girl of the Year 2012. The winner will receive a FREE prom dress and other fabulous prizes!
Candidates should be truly extraordinary young women - those who have overcome hardship, demonstrated exceptional academic prowess or school spirit, and/or helped others in need. While you are certainly welcome to nominate yourself, we are encouraging our fans to nominate their favorite prom girl, whether she be a daughter, sister, niece, friend, etc. In your nomination, tell us why your nominee deserves to be Prom Girl of the Year in a short, 300-500 word essay. Then, email your essay, along with the following information, to blog@weddingshoppeinc.com:

Local nominations:
The deadline for submitting local nominations is 12pm CST on February 13, 2012. Each essay will be carefully reviewed, and on February 15, the top five essays will be placed on Wedding Shoppe Inc.’s blog, MyWeddingChat.com, and Wildfire voting application.
*When submitting your nomination, please keep in mind that we would like to be able to surprise our Prom Girl of the Year in person if we have the perfect opportunity to, and will invite her to come shop our store in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to select her free prom dress.
National nominations:
The deadline for submitting national nominations is 12pm CST on February 24, 2012. Like the local contest, each essay will be reviewed, and on February 27, the top five essays will be placed on Wedding Shoppe Inc.’s blog, My Wedding Chat.com, and Wildfire voting application.
Voting:
Fans may vote for the nominee they feel is most deserving of a free prom dress, via Wildfire voting application. We will provide each contestant with the proper information for family and friends to vote for their submission. Voting for the local contest will end at 12pm CST on February 24, 2012. Voting for thenational contest will end at 12pm CST on March 7, 2012

No method of entry other than the method(s) described above will be accepted. This offer is open to persons over 13 in the continental United States and the District of Columbia, except that this contest is void where prohibited. Previous prize recipients are not eligible. Any entry that does not comply with all of the requirements set forth in the rules described above and in the General Contest Terms and Conditions may be rejected.
The Wedding Shoppe reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to extend the contest if it has received what it believes is an inadequate number of entries. Winners are not entitled to receive cash or any other substitution for the stated prize, but The Wedding Shoppe reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable or greater value. All taxes or other fees (if any) not expressly stated in the prize description are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Any and all determinations regarding the winning entry will be made by The Wedding Shoppe in its sole discretion and will be binding on all contestants. The winner will be contacted via the email address and/or phone number included in the submission. If the winner does not respond within five (5) days of the date of the prize notification, The Wedding Shoppe may (but is not required to) choose an alternate winner from the pool of remaining eligible entries. If the contest is based on voting, the alternate winner will be the submission receiving the second highest vote total, provided that all other conditions to eligibility are met and the alternate winner responds within five (5) days of the date of the prize notification. Winners may be required to appear at The Wedding Shoppe store location and/or provide proof of identity to claim the prize.
