Pantone Colors for Spring 2015 & Your Wedding

Wedding Planning

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the latest Pantone fashion report. Spring wedding planning has begun, and color palettes need to be decided on! 2014 brought us Radiant Orchid and an array of vibrant shades. When I saw the Pantone colors for spring 2015, I breathed a sigh of relief; the seasonal selections are soft and cool, with pops of warm tones inspired by nature. Wedding themes will be en plain air—French for “in the open air.” Minimalism is a must this season, and I can’t wait for a break from bright hues and bold décor. It’s time to keep things simple and stylish. I’ve come up with a few beautiful inspiration boards to get you started.

Pantone Colors for Spring 2015: En plain air wedding palettes.

Below are the 16 shades for the 2015 season. I think Mother Nature had a say in this year’s choices, don’t you? Plenty of green and blue hues have made an appearance, as well as neutral tans for a rustic vibe. Every big day needs a pop of color, so Tangerine, Strawberry Ice, and Custard made the cut. Here is a complete list of the Pantone colors for spring 2015 and their complements.

Aquamarine & Glacier Gray

This combination is so soft and beautiful. I’ve paired Aquamarine and Glacier Gray with a natural green. Your ‘maids would look beautiful in blue bridesmaid dresses, like this off-the-shoulder look from Dessy. The unique neckline is also on-trend—talk about a fashion-forward bride. Simple white bouquets and classic accessories are ideal choices. This look is timeless, there’s no doubt about that, and it will let the natural beauty of your bridesmaids shine.

Strawberry Ice & Tangerine

For bolder brides, this inspiration board may catch you eye. Strawberry Ice and Tangerine are such a cute combination, and Toasted Almond is a complementary neutral. Kennedy Blue’s collection of chiffon dresses are flirty and fun, and their coral is very similar to Strawberry Ice. Pull in Tangerine with your bridesmaid bouquets, and nude heels well complete the look. For your décor, fill clear vases with clementines or tangerines for a unique burst of color. The key to this palette is fun which is essential for a memorable big day.

Scuba Blue & Lucite Green

The first two wedding themes are complete opposites, so I created something in-between. This bright blue palette is gorgeous for spring. Lucite Green is my favorite shade in the fashion report (fingers are crossed for Color of the Year). It’s so fresh and unique, not to mention a stunning choice for bridal party attire. Scuba Blue adds bit of flair to the combination, and your neutral can be Glacier Gray or even a metallic. Try a brooch bouquet as seen here, or white and pink peonies. As you can see, pink is a lovely pairing—just don’t go overboard. The ‘maids on my inspiration board looked pretty in mismatched bridesmaid dresses, but I love the ruffles on Alfred Sung D470.

Where can you find the Pantone colors for spring 2015?

Need to Know: The Dessy Group uses Pantone! If you’ve fallen for one of the new, natural hues, look at the collections from Alfred Sung, Lela Rose, Social Bridesmaids, After Six, or the Dessy Collection by Vivian Diamond. They may not have every shade selected for 2015, but they’ll have very similar options.
